We notice so much anger.
I shake my head over the identity wedges social networking forces people to choose. Political, educational, social, by hobby, religion, by sexuality, by service. Aren't we more complex and beautiful than that, and aren't we worth discovering ourselves beyond the restrictions of those fill-in boxes?
Everyone has inside him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is! ~ Anne Frank

The fact that we have lost the capacity to rejoice in our friends excitement or comfort in their sorrow - is there another point to the social media suck? Being angry all of the time certainly isn't it for me.
Seeing the ceiling at the Bellagio would be one of the only reason I would go to Las Vegas...
I so agree with what you wrote today. If you disagree with the prevailing though you are put in a box labeled conservative, when did that become such a bad word, or liberal or..... ?
Anger, anger everywhere.
Living in a border state that so many people abuse with the amount of flaunting of the basic law of America, I can see why so many people are angry.
Great post today as always Kanani !

cheers, parsnip
Right on(sorry for the hippie speak)
Well, I think there are people who get so angry, they get stuck in the anger. And all they do is perpetrate more, to their detriment. Off to the wayside falls any goals, aspirations, the chance to turn anger into an action that produces positive change, and in the process transforms oneself. That's what I see missing.
The indication that they're willing to risk anything in order to grow.
I talk to my best friends on the phone because I don't post the deepest parts of me on social media. I normally share the funny or cute parts of my life. My children and animals supply all the social media content I can bear.
As a substitute teacher though I fear for the future generations. The ones filled with kids who turn in formal writing assignments in "text speak." The commercial of the teenage girl talking bad about her parents, who only have 16 friends verses her 800 Facebook friends cracks me up. Sadly it's true though.
Social media ...well, there are people who get a lot of readers by posting all their most personal details. Nothing wrong with this, but it is very boring to read about the minutiae of their life year after years. Especially if the problems remain unchanged.
All I'm saying is I am NOT giving out hugs, virtual or otherwise.
