Choosing Life Over Facebook

Oh, Facebook. You were fun, but you are like the friend who keeps changing and getting faster, and sharing really stupid things with me (Farmville, Mafia Wars) that I don't really care about. And now.... the the friend is prone to rants and rambles (long status updates in a feed that amount to a solid page of text). The zing has gone out of it.

So I am back here on my blog. I will do more pictures.

Yeaaaaaaaaaa !

Your Back.... more photos, so very cute. Looks like someone got a hair cut ?

I spend plenty of time on the computer as it is. Facebook, twitter, tumble blah blah blah.... Thank goodness I only blog. Sometimes even blogging is too much.

So I have limited myself to a small amount of blogs that I like to read. Either the blogs are from a place that I like, have visited, or want to visit and a few friends. Most don't post everyday and I don't always comment. That way I can check in and visit but not spend hours.
I need to get up and move, mobility issues doctors orders, so if I want to sit I need to do art and not sit at the computer !

Love the photos

cheers, parsnip

Facebook is like the continually morphing blob. From day to day you never know what you will find and the paranoia that the shifting security paradigm is manipulated to reveal too much about yourself is overwhelming me.

As for Twitter, after resisting for the last couple of years, I tried it...for four days. My assumptions were confirmed. Anything someone says in 140 characters or less is superficial and not worth my time.

Ed, What twitter is good for is reaching a broad network of people about a single topic. What I noticed when I tweeted stuff from WarRetreat.org, is our hits spiked, and we picked up more followers through twitter. (Some do hit the link you provide). So I think it's a good tool for marketing and promotion.

Facebook is a bit different. And I think while it too is an effective tool for marketing and promotion (we did a lot with it for Restrepo), it's also more personal.
